More than 800 players coaches and parents celebrated their achievements at the annual awards ceremony at Buckingham Community Centre in May 2007. Boys and girls aged 7 to 16 all received awards from distinguished guests and team sponsors.
The growth of the club over the past few years to 30 teams of boys and girls meant that day had to be split into four sessions. Club chairman Jim Mundy said: ‘The atmosphere at each session was electric, especially with the younger age groups who really get into the spirit of the event.’ The day started at 11.15am and proceedings went onto 10pm. During the day more than 100 special awards in categories of clubman/girl, most improved player, players’ player, managers’ player, top scorer and top goalkeeper were handed out.
The event ended with Moretonville saying farewell to under 16’s manager Bob Ogle and Richard Patterson.
