Club Captain Boys - Josh Whitehead

I joined Moretonville Junior Football Club in 2000 as a 7 year old boy under the guidance of Tom Goom. Alongside Joe Townsend, Will Parsons and Jack Doran we are the only four players still with Moretonville since then.

To date, the best season we have had was in 2004-05 when we won the Witney & District Division 2 championship. However, I am part of a very good team this year – and we have set high expectations for ourselves.

I thoroughly enjoy playing for Moretonville and have personally  benefitted from the development that this club has given me. In each season I have played for Moretonville I have been my teams top scorer. Additionally,  I played for the Rep team from 2006 to 2008. However, this season is proving to be a little bit special.  I have progressed into playing for Buckingham Town Youth – and am presently going through the trial system with Luton Town FC. Moretonville has been integral in all of this.

Moretonville is a very friendly club. It offers players from 7 to 16 the opportunity to be part of a well structured sports club – and as such, I consider it a huge honour to be asked to be the Club Captain. I hope in my year as Club Captain and can be a good role model to all the existing players – as well as those players joining the club.
