It was our first match of the season and we were determined to go out there and give the game our all. It was a nice warm day and an ideal day for a game of football. We all started off with the warm up that we do every training session, passing the ball strongly, practising for the match. When the match began, we were playing very strong as a team, communicating etc. And it took quite a while for Wolverton wasps to score there first goal. Despite the goal we continued playing trying to keep our heads high and with the great support from our captain and other members of our team, we continued the match hoping to come back with a good result. During the first half of the game Abby unfortunately hurt her knee, so we had to play 9 aside, which the opposition team also agreed to play. Shortly after the second half began, Amelie the goal keeper was injured and had to be taken off the pitch and replaced with DJ, who was a previous goal keeper, who done a great job in goal. Reducing our players again we continued the match, still with a positive attitude. Throughout the game we had some great throw-in’s by Hannah and Keira. We had a few free kicks, for example when Amelie was injured etc. And we generally had a good start to the session. They were a strong team and always have been, but I believe we as a team have improved since last season as they defeated us heavily last time we played them. At the end of the game the final result was 6-0 to Wolver ton wasps. Player of the match was awarded to Lauren for her constant communication on the pitch.
