A great game saw the Rovers win an entertaining cup tie. Kestrels took an early lead, but a 20 minute period of great passing football saw the Rovers take control. Marshall headed down for Cruse to score. Marsden then broke up a Kestrels attack and fed Robbins who ran from half way to slot home. Marshall's cross was then hammered home by Cozens for his first Rovers goal, before Robbins poked home from a Marshall corner. Then a flowing team move, led to a free kick. Marshall lined up the shot, and as the wall brased itself, Marshall cooly picked out Robbins for his hatrick. The second half was just as good with the Kestrels never giving up. Cruse scored again before a fightback by the Kestrels, but the Rovers held on for a well deserved victory.
