Rovers played their first game for 6 weeks looking to continue their better performances in the previous weeks when played. On a frosty bumpy pitch things started badly falling behind after 5 minutes and we looked very rusty. We soon found ourselves 2-0 down after 10 minutes and then 3-0 down after 20 with little forward movement to trouble the City Colts keeper. Switching round at half time we changed some postions and did look stronger and more organised at the back and were starting to push forward more, however mid way through the half City Colts struck again to make it 4-0. Still the boys did not give up and a run down the right by Dom Whewhey and cross into the box found captain Alastair Akam on hand to tap the ball home and make the final score in a 4-1 defeat. Man of the match was Will Bonthrone for his strong running and tackling and general positional play. We look forward to reversing the score line next weekend and the return fixture.
