Rovers entertained top of the table Heath Panthers in this midweek clash knowing it would be a tough having lost 10-1 in the game earlier in the season. As expected it was very much back to the walls stuff for the Rovers in the first 10 minutes although holding out and Rovers really should have taken the lead after 15 minutes with the first meaningful attack saw Ally Akams shot pushed onto the post. The defence of Adam Bradbury, Chris Gannon, Kieron Wraight and Sean Osborn were performing out of their skins to maintain parity but after 18 minutes a soft own goal gave Heath the lead and was quickly followed by number 2 and half time. At the start of the second half Heath came out all guns blazing and in a 10 minute spell added 5 goals to make it 7-0 with 10 minutes remaining, however the boys continued with heads up and Ally Akam was fouled in the box and got up to score the resulting penalty and Matt Russell quickly added a second to make the final socre 7-2 to a very good Heath Panthers team.
