Rovers shaded the Rangers in what was always going to be a close fought game. The first half was an even affair with most of the play in midfield, although Solly in the Rangers goal hand to save well from the impressive Ryan Marsden from distance. Rangers also went close when Nesden shot wide after beating the defence. The second period, Rovers upped there pace slightly, and took the lead when Marshall fed Marsden and his pass found Harry Agnew and he finished well from the angle. Rangers Responded with some pressure, and just when it looked like the Rovers had weathered the storm, the ball managed to squeeze in at the near post for an equilizer. Rovers responded well with Cruse and Marshall now showing what they can do after quiet first halfs, and it was from a trademark Marshall corner that man of the match Marsden rose highest to head home to seal the win for the Rovers.
