The Fundraising Continues

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in a number of recent grant bids and fundraising activities:

  • On Saturday 22nd Harrison Turner Robson, our boys club captain, received a cheque on behalf of MJFC for£1007 from the Rotary.  This was from the March Swimathon, so well done and thank you to all those that got involved.  The U14 Hurricanes also picked up the award for the most laps swum during the event.
  • We have also received c£700 from the FA Premier league to replace some of our broken goals that have been taken out of action.  These will be delivered and ready to be installed before the start of the new season
  • We are also delighted to announce that we have been awarded a £16,006 grant from the London Marathon, in relation to increasing physical activity for children and young people with particular focus on our girls section, which has successfully  expanded over recent years and continues to do so.  More news on this will follow, but with this money we will be able to carry on the great work.

These grants and fundraising activity brings the total 50 for 50 raised to just over £30,000.  It’s a great achievement to be over half way with 6 months to go, but there is still a lot of work to do so if you can help please get involved !!!  We have a Fun day coming up (Saturday September 7th) but you can also get involved in other ways – you could do your own fundraising activity (either individually or as a team), take part in the 50k in 50 days initiative, or support others – you could sponsor Michael Hancock or join the Vale Lottery raising money for local causes including MJFC.
