Workshop for aspiring female coaches was great success at Moretonville
Moretonville hosted our first ever ‘Stepping over the Sidelines’ workshop on May 5, designed to give women and girls of all ages some insight and encouragement about coaching.
Delivered by Joanne Williams, FA Women and Girls Regional Coach Development Officer, the session showed how life skills such as being supportive, communication, organisation and creativeness are just as important in what makes a good coach as having a detailed knowledge of the sport.
There was some great discussion about making first steps into a coaching role or how to find other ways to support grassroots football.
The club will schedule another of these events during September. If you’d like to join the follow up session, or are thinking about getting involved in coaching at Moretonville and want to know more then please contact Gareth Evans on girls@moretonville.org.uk.
